Summertime Soil Testing

Now that the growing season has finally arrived, many of the samples coming in are from fields and gardens that are not doing well. One of the most common problems we see is Nitrogen Deficiency. Heavy rainfall, poor soil drainage, or amending soil exclusively with compost can each greatly complicate nitrogen management. A Comprehensive Soil Test, which includes a direct measurement of nitrogen availability, is one of the most effective ways to fine tune nitrogen fertility, enhance productivity, and avoid hidden deficiencies during the growing season.
